Sweet and Spicy Nuts

Fall is in full swing and that means the days are getting shorter and chillier. This snack recipe courtesy of All Recipes is perfect for the cooler weather. With a mix of both sweet and spicy, it warms you to your core. Enjoy this snack while you enjoy our movie of the week Borat 2, or while you enjoy the latest episode of Films in Black and White, available wherever you get your podcasts.


What You'll Need

1 cup of Walnuts

1 cup of Peanuts

1 cup of Almonds

1 cup of Pecans

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon pepper

1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1/2 cup white sugar

1 tablespoon butter

1/4 cup water







Step 1

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Then in a large bowl combine all the different types of nuts. Add the salt, pepper, cumin, and cayenne pepper.

Step 2

In a small sauce pan, combine the water, butter, and sugar. Heat over medium heat until the butter has melted completely. Once the mixture is melted, pour over the nut and spice mixture.

Step 3

Cover a rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil and spray it with non-stick spray. Then spread the nut mixture out on the baking sheet in one layer.

Step 4

Bake in the oven for about 11 mins. Then take out and move the mixture around until it is in an even layer, and bake again for about 6 mins. Let the mixture cool and enjoy!
